My topic is on Greek Life here at WSU. In all honesty, I never saw myself as someone who would be in a sorority. I have always had my group of girl friends growing up, but I never saw myself being a part of something like this. I am from California. I mainly went through recruitment with the thought that if I did not join a house; I would get to know other girls during the process. I was so nervous about not knowing anyone here and recruitment was definitely pretty intimidating, but it was all worth it. I can genuinely say that if I did not join Alpha Chi Omega, I would have gone home and not come back this year. No matter how much I missed my home, the weather, my family, and friends, the girls in my house are what got me through it and made me want to be here. At first, I joined the house because I wanted to have that home away from home type of a feeling up here in Pullman. Alpha Chi Omega has offered me so much more than that, and that is why I decided that I wanted to share about my experience here in the sorority. It has helped me become the person I am now, pushed me out of my comfort zone, and makes me strive to be better every day. I genuinely feel like I am a part of something that is greater than myself. Because of the stigma around being in a sorority or fraternity, a lot of people do not realize how much actually goes on when you are a part of Greek life. You have weekly chapter meetings, community service hours, throw philanthropic events, recruitment, and attend programing events. I am really passionate about our philanthropy, community service, and recruitment process, so in some of my next postings I will post more about that. I plan to share photos and videos from these types of events to showcase how much impact they have had on my life and the others surrounding me. All of these different factors of being an Alpha Chi Omega have molded me into the woman I am now, and the person I continue to strive to be. I am excited to share more about my time I have had here and the journey I am continuing to take. Stay tuned for more 🙂
I chose this as one of my inspiration blogs because I feel like it really captures all of the wonderful things our organization does countrywide, which I want to be able to share with you all too.
I chose this as another inspiration blog because it is specific to my chapter of Alpha Chi Omega and how special it is and all of the cool things we get to do being a part of it.
