Premiere Final Project

For my premiere final project, I actually decided to change my topic after submitting my draft. For some reason, after uploading my draft to YouTube it was extremely blurry, even though in premiere it did not really seem like it. I realized the video footage probably was not high enough quality because of the way it was filmed for my big little reveals. So instead, I decided to tell them story of the impact being a part of Alpha Chi Omega has had on me. I thought this was fitting especially since this is our last project. I took time lapses of myself writing it out. Every other take I would write in purple and would switch it off with black to make it a little more fun. I wrote on lined paper on my white desk with a lamp shining down on the paper to make it look really bright. I really like the way my footage ended up turning out. I filmed it, which was kind of difficult while I was writing. It was a little harder too because I was using my left hand to film, but one of the readings told us to hold our filming arm in close to our chest with our elbows folded in, so that is what I did and it made it a little easier. As for the editing aspect of things, there are a lot of new skills I learned while putting together this video. I started off with putting all of my footage together in a folder on my desktop, which I then imported into my project. This made it easier to find everything and put it all together. When putting it all together, my photos would be super weirdly zoomed in and stuff. I would fix that by using the scale tool. Some of my videos were smaller than others so I would use scale for those too. Since I would have to make those ones larger, I then would use the tool unsharp mask and would drag it onto my videos. The unsharp tool was super helpful since you can customize it to the amount you need to. Then I added my voice memos that I took of myself saying aloud what my little notes said. I added the images of each note so that I could make them slightly longer than my voice memos. I also added the song Warm Thoughts by Flume, and made it quieter than my voice memos by using the tool audio gain. I am really proud of the outcome of this project and feel like I have come a long way with my creation abilities.

Hi there! My name is Stephanie Hilliard, but I go by Steph. I am a second year college student at Washington State University and I am majoring in Communications. I am a part of a sorority here on campus, Alpha Chi Omega. When I am not doing my schoolwork, doing things for the house is what typically takes up the rest of my time. The reason why I am starting this blog is to post the media content I am going to be creating for a course I am taking this semester, COM 210. I am excited to be taking this class and be recording it all in a blog, so then in the end I can look back and see all of the hard work I have put into this course throughout the semester. A little bit more about myself, some hobbies and interests I have revolve around health and wellness, as well as music. I love exercising, yoga, and eating right. I try to exercise every day because it always makes me feel good after. I am taking yoga this semester, which I am excited about because normally when I am up at school I do not have much time to do it, but now I will get the chance to twice a week! I also always try to eat healthy because when I am healthy I am happy ☺. The kind of music that I love is EDM (electric dance music). I love going to festivals with my friends, those are my favorite kinds of weekends. So there is a little bit about me, stay tuned for more!
